Wendy Redshaw has been appointed Standard Life’s first ever group chief digital and technology officer.

The role, which she take up ‘in the coming months,’ will bring together Standard Life’s technology, digital, data, security and AI capabilities to support the company’s growth ambitions.

Redshaw brings extensive relevant experience to the role, most recently as NatWest group’s chief digital information officer for retail.

She will report to group CEO Andy Briggs and sit on the executive committee.

Briggs said: “Technology, data and AI are increasingly important in helping us support customers throughout their journey to and through retirement.

“Wendy’s experience in leading large-scale digital transformation programmes will help us build on the strong foundations we’ve put in place and continue improving the ways we serve customers and deliver better outcomes.”

Redshaw added: “I’m really excited to join Standard Life at such an important moment in its journey.

“What really stands out to me is the combination of a clear purpose, a strong sense of ambition and a genuine focus on customers. I’m looking forward to building on the strong foundations already in place.”
