Zurich Int'l temporarily suspends terms

|

International Adviser understands the life office suspended terms with Continental at the end of last year and has since been working with the firm and its advisers to resolve a number of issues it felt needed to be addressed.

While Zurich would not confirm the suspension, it follows an announcement early last year that it would no longer accept business from advisory firms which are not directly licensed by the local regulator, the Insurance Authority.

Continental does hold an Insurance Authority license, but there has been some industry speculation that it was one of a number of firms which allowed other brokers to use its licence, something which the Insurance Authority takes a dim view of.

At the time of publication neither Zurich nor Continental were available for comment.
