Zurich has appointed a new chief life actuary to its Isle of Man-based international business.

Neil Costa has also assumed the role of appointed actuary at Zurich International Life and will lead a team of 15 actuaries and actuarial students.

Costa has more than 25 years of industry experience and has held the role of appointed actuary for Zurich’s international branches in Singapore and the UAE for several years. In his new role, he will take over this responsibility in the company’s Hong Kong, Bahrain, and Qatar branches.

Costa’s previous role as valuation actuary has been filled by Tom Morfett, while Morfett’s previous role as head of the actuarial management reporting team has been filled by Jordan Guthrie.

On his appointment, Costa said: “I am very excited by the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in what is a time of change and evolution in our industry.”

Zurich International Life is a company incorporated in the Isle of Man which operates through regional branch offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Taiwan, and Argentina. It was established in 1982, and employs 220 staff.
