Based in Dubai, Jopp will be responsible for enhancing the customer and distributor experience across Zurich’s retail distribution channels, including IFAs, regional banks and strategic partnerships in the region.

Jopp starts his new role on 17 August, 2015 and will report to Jawed Barna, chief executive for Global Life, Middle East and Africa.

“Enhancing the customer and distributor experience is a cornerstone of our strategy and Walter’s appointment will ensure we continue to provide the best service levels across the industry in the region,” said Barna.

Jopp has worked at Zurich for 20 years across a range of distribution channels in the UK, US, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe and was formerly head of market management for Global Life Asia Pacific.

Jopp’s appointment follows the transfer of Paul Dawson, currently head of retail distribution MEA, to the Zurich Life business in the UK.
