In her new role, Wright is responsible for RBC Wealth Management’s American clients in London and will work with advisers in the UK and the US.
Her primary focus will be on building relationships with high net worth individuals linked to the Greater New York and East Coast areas. She reports to Martin Heale, the head of Americas.
"Michelle’s appointment is further proof of our dedication to US clients in London at a time when many UK wealth managers are deciding to scale back or exit the market," said Mike Moodie, the head of UK at RBC Wealth Management.
"Our investments business in London has held a [Securities and Exchange Commission] licence for over a decade and we’re well-positioned to service increasingly sophisticated clients that are looking to London for a variety of wealth management solutions."
At Barclays Wealth, Wright was a private banker, focusing on financial industry professionals and US citizens living in the UK. Before this, she spent five years with Lehman Brothers, where she dealt with ultra high net worth individuals, family offices, foundations and charities.
