The new D share class provides access to VAM’s Ucits regulated funds at an annual management charge of 0.85%.

The move gives advisers more choice on how they levy their fees, with VAM Funds now offering both A and D share class options.

David Macdonald, sales and marketing director, VAM Funds, said: “[We] passionately believes in the value of investment advice. How this advice is paid for, varies worldwide.

“Sometimes it is prescribed by regulations in an adviser’s jurisdiction and sometimes it is purely down to an adviser’s business model.”

Clean benefits

According to The Share Centre, an independent UK retail stockbroker, the benefits of clean shares include:

  • Lower fund charges;
  • Transparent fee structure;
  • Potential improvement in fund performance (due to lower charges); and,
  • Easier comparison of charges between funds.
