US in the news: Wealth Enhancement Group buys New Jersey firm

Wealth Enhancement Group

The independent wealth manager has acquired New Jersey-based BFS Wealth Management.

BFS Wealth Management oversees more than $523m (£431m, €492m) in client assets with a team of three advisers and six support staff, led by president John Burke.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ty J Young Wealth Management

The Atlanta advice firm has bought North Carolina-based Charlotte Financial Services.

The acquisition is the 26th that Ty J Young Wealth Management has made in the past four years.

People moves

Robertson Stephens Wealth Management

The wealth firm has hired Vodia Capital, a Boston-based advice firm.

Vodia’s founder and managing principal David Matias, and principal Avi Deutsch will join Robertson Stephens along with their colleagues Brandon Frye, Chuning Wang, Janet Shetty and Mammad Aliyev.

Raymond James

Financial adviser Howard Kaplan has joined the wealth manager.

Kaplan joins the team at Riegel Financial, which has been established for 50 years and is based out of offices in both Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.

Together with the group’s three other advisers and four support staff, he provides total financial and tax planning strategies for multi-generational and high net worth clients across the country.

Kaplan was previously affiliated with Stifel.

In other news, Raymond James has hired financial advisers Randi Bednarczyk and James Bassett.

As Diamond Oak Wealth Partners, the advisers maintain offices in both Walnut Creek and San Ramon, California.

Together they provide comprehensive planning to clients in a range of financial circumstances including business owners, corporate executives, divorcees and healthcare professionals.

Previously, the team was affiliated with Edward Jones.
