US in the news: Wealth Enhancement Group buys Boston advice firm

Wealth Enhancement Group

The independent wealth management firm has acquired North American Management (NAM), an independent registered investment adviser (RIA) firm based in Boston.

Founded in 1928, NAM provides planning-oriented wealth management, trust services and a range of investment offerings, including individual security portfolios, to ultra-high net worth individuals, families, endowments/foundations, and business owners nationwide.

The acquisition will bring a team of 20 individuals, including nine financial advisers, to Wealth Enhancement Group.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Focus Financial Partners

The partnership of independent, fiduciary wealth management firms has brought RIA firm Rollins Financial into the group for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021, subject to customary closing conditions.

Founded in 1990 by Joe Rollins, Rollins Financial provides financial planning, tax planning and investment management services to high net worth clients primarily across the southeast.

People moves

Evercore Wealth Management

The wealth firm has promoted three to partner and two to managing director.

Ruth Calaman, general counsel and chief compliance officer, Howard Cure director of municipal bond research, and Ashley Ferriello, wealth and fiduciary adviser, will become partners at Evercore Wealth Management.

Paulo Coelho and Jennifer Tse will be managing directors after being wealth and fiduciary advisers.

UBS Wealth Management USA

It has hired the Dawson Wealth Management Group to its offices in San Diego, California.

The team is led by financial adviser Edward Dawson and includes associates Adrianne Hoy, Kyle Dawson, Patty Bribiesca and Katherine Tawoda.

Ed Dawson joins UBS as a managing director, Kyle Dawson will be a financial adviser, while Hoy and Bribiesca become senior wealth strategy associates, and Tawoda is a senior registered client service associate.

Rockefeller Capital Management

The financial services firm has hired PBS Wealth Partners to join its southwest division.

PBS Wealth Partners is led by managing director and private wealth adviser Alpesh Patel, senior vice president and private wealth adviser Matthew Birkett, and vice president and private wealth adviser Darren Siegrist

The team of five is joining from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and will also include Hai Dang, team chief operating officer as well as Chris Iwamasa, associate vice president and senior client associate.
