Sanctuary Wealth

The advice network has named Adam Malamed as chief executive.

Previously, Malamed served as executive vice president, chief operating officer and board director of Ladenburg Thalmann.

New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM)

Naïm Abou-Jaoudé has been named as chief executive of the asset manager.

He is currently the chief executive of global asset manager Candriam.

Abou-Jaoudé will assume the role of at NYLIM on 1 May 2023.

UBS

The US wealth arm of the Swiss giant has hired financial advisers David Sacharko and Sean Siana.

They will join the UBS greater New England market and will be based in the Hartford, The duo join from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

Elsewhere, UBS Private Wealth Management has hired the The Klinger Quan Group, led by private wealth advisers Jeffrey Klinger and Bradley Quan.

They will join the firm in San Francisco from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

Insigneo

The international wealth management firm has appointed Homar Mauras as market head for the Andean region, Central America and the Caribbean.

He will be based at the firm’s Puerto Rico office.

Prior to joining Insigneo, Mauras was president, chief executive and chief operating officer of Citi International Financial Services in Puerto Rico, which Insigneo acquired in August 2022.

PNC Private Bank Hawthorn

Emily Bouchard has been named as head of the institute for family success.

It is the private bank’s range of specialised services that help ultra-high net worth families navigate their multi-generational wealth.

Bouchard joins PNC Private Bank Hawthorn from Ascent Private Capital Management and has nearly 20 years of industry experience.

Mariner Wealth Advisors

The wealth advisory firm has named Todd Cassler as chief strategy and growth officer.

He joins Mariner Wealth Advisors from John Hancock and Manulife Investment Management, where he was president of financial institutions and advisory solutions and the head of institutional distribution for the US and Europe.

Bison Wealth

Capital Defender Advisors team has joined the wealth management firm.

Capital Defender manages approximately $500m (£408m, €457m) in assets and is led by Elio Chiarelli, Ray Hansen and Brian McGinnis.

Chiarelli and Hansen join from Kidder Advisers, where Hansen served as president and Chiarelli as a vice president.

McGinnis joins along with his colleagues at Serve & Protect Financial, an advisory team he both founded and led.

Both teams are coming together as Capital Defender Advisors under Bison Wealth.

M&A

Wealth Enhancement Group

The wealth management firm has acquired advice company Legacy Financial Planning for an undisclosed sum.

The hybrid RIA has three offices located in New York and Florida. It oversees more than $371m in client assets with a team of three advisers and four support staff led by chief executive and co-founder Tammy Mogilski, and president and co-founder Brian Bedford.

Slate Hill Partners

The family office-backed holding company has taken a minority stake in XO Wealth Management for an undisclosed sum.

With over $630m in assets under management, XO is a Texas-based advice firm. XO is SHP’s first investment into a registered investment adviser (RIA) firm, and intends to deploy more capital into more firms across the state.

XO Wealth Management, founded in 2016 by managing director Matthew Fuller, serves the needs of high net worth individuals, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs, among others, with financial planning and investment management services.

Mission Wealth

The wealth firm has merged with Arizona-headquartered Murphy Capital Advisors.

The firm was founded by Matt Murphy and serves clients throughout Arizona, as well as select clients in Illinois.

Emigrant Partners

The firm has minority investment in California-based SteelPeak Wealth for an undisclosed sum.

EP’s partnership will provide SteelPeak with capital and strategic resources to support the firm in its next phase of growth.

SteelPeak is founded by Reza Zamani, Maziar Esmailbeigi, and Ali Zamani.
