US in the news: Rockefeller poaches First Republic wealth EVP

People moves

Rockefeller Capital Management

The financial advisory firm has appointed Brian Riley as the head of its San Francisco office and managing director of its Pacific northwest division for Rockefeller Private Wealth Management.

In his role, Riley will be responsible for leading and expanding Rockefeller’s business in the region.

He joins Rockefeller from First Republic Bank, where he served as an executive vice president on the private wealth management team.

Glenmede

The privately held and independently-owned wealth management firm has hired Elizabeth Eldridge as the director of manager research.

She joins Glenmede from JP Morgan Private Bank, where she was global head of equity and equity alternative manager solutions.

Youngs Advisory Group

The independent registered investment advisory (RIA) firm has named Matthew Short as senior wealth manager at its Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania office.

Short was most recently at Charles Schwab, where he was a financial planner and investment adviser.

Raymond James Financial Services

The independent broker/dealer has hired financial advisers Mark Killingsworth and Stephen Vessey for its offices in Wisconsin.

The duo join from Wells Fargo Advisors, where they previously managed $200m (£160.4m, €183m) in client assets.

They, along with registered client service associate Carrie Decker, operate as Killingsworth & Vessey Financial Partners.

Elsewhere, the firm also hired Neil Goetzman and Jeffrey Nau to its offices in Virginia.

The team, which includes financial adviser Gerald Lyon and registered client service associate Kathy Trzaskoma, operates as Goetzman Nau Financial Partners.

They join from Merrill Lynch, where the advisers previously managed approximately $900m in client assets.

Fiduciary Trust International

The global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton has named Lisette Cooper to the firm’s board of directors.

Cooper became vice chairman of Fiduciary Trust International following the company’s acquisition of Athena Capital Advisors in a merger transaction in March 2020.

She founded Athena Capital in 1993 and served as its managing partner and chief investment officer.

M&A

Advisor Group

The wealth management network has acquired 20/20 Wealth Management Group, a hybrid financial advisory firm based in Auburn, Alabama.

The firm has more than $120m in total client assets.

It has five advisers, including founding partner and branch manager Lon Simpson and founding partner Eugene Oks, as well as Timothy Aja, April Wallace and Jeff Nance.

It specialises in retirement planning strategies for clients both in and approaching retirement.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
