US in the news: Rockefeller bolsters global family office arm

People moves

Rockefeller Capital Management

Christopher Dupuy and Timothy O’Hara have been named as co-heads of the Rockefeller Global Family Office.

Dupuy, who joined the firm in 2018 and is currently the national field director for private wealth management, will become president of private wealth management and co-head of the Rockefeller Global Family Office.

O’Hara joined the firm in 2019 and will carry on his current role as president of the firm’s family office as well as co-head of the Rockefeller Global Family Office.

Michael Outlaw has also been appointed to a newly created role of national field director for the Rockefeller Global Family Office, reporting to Dupuy and O’Hara.  Outlaw is currently a divisional director in Rockefeller’s private wealth management arm.

The firm has also hired Mark Alexander as the head of technology and operations.

Alexander previously served as chief information officer and head of technology and operations for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global markets business and in the same role for its global wealth and investment management business.

Christopher Randazzo, who currently serves as president of private wealth management, is stepping away from his leadership role for personal reasons and will serve in the capacity of special adviser to Greg Fleming, president and chief executive of Rockefeller Capital Management.

Fiduciary Trust Company

The Boston-headquartered private wealth management firm has named Suma Nair as chief fiduciary officer in January 2022.

Nair is joining Fiduciary from Goulston & Storrs PC, where she has been a director in its private client and trust practice group.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

The wealth manager has named Tim Sanville as principal and wealth manager.

Sanville has three decades of experience with BNY Mellon Wealth Management – including two decades in fixed income.

He most recently served as senior fixed income portfolio manager where he managed four mutual funds and separately managed portfolios.

Raymond James

Financial advisers Jesse Brookreson and Brian Trymbiski have joined the firm in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Operating as Great Oak Investment Management of Raymond James, the team joins from Wells Fargo.

Also joining the Great Oak Investment Management team is Leigh McKee, sales development associate.

M&A

CI Financial

The Canadian firm has agreed to buy a majority stake in Birmingham, Michigan and New York-based private client firm R H Bluestein & Co for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1990, Bluestein is led by Robert Bluestein and Jeffrey Bluestein.

Bluestein will be CI’s first registered investment adviser (RIA) firm in the Metro Detroit area and in Michigan.

RGT Wealth Advisors

The CI Financial subsidiary has acquired Dallas-based RIA firm Odyssey Wealth Management for an undisclosed sum.

The deal brings RGT’s total assets to approximately $5.5bn (£4.1bn, €4.8bn).

The Mather Group

The family- and employee-owned wealth management firm has bought Seattle-based RIA firm Allison Spielman Advisors.

Established in 1997, ASA has a four-person team, including owner and founder Thom Allison.

The ASA team will continue to operate out of its office in Bellevue, just outside of Seattle.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Relative Value Partners Group

The Illinois-based wealth management firm has recruited Rebecca Deaton and her six-person team.

Following completion of this transaction, Focus Financial subsidiary RVP is expected to have a total of 20 team members in total.

Deaton will become a partner of RVP.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mercer Global Advisors

The RIA firm has acquired Georgia-based ACG Wealth for an undisclosed sum.

ACG was founded in 2002 by founding partners Jeffrey Shaver and Joseph Young Jr.

Shaver and Young will join Mercer alongside 17 staff members.
