US in the news: Glenmede names CEO

A round-up of people moves and M&A deals across North America

People moves

Glenmede

President and chief executive Gordon Fowler Jr plans to retire at the end of August 2023.

Fowler joined Glenmede as chief investment officer in 2003 and assumed the role of chief executive in 2010.

The firm has appointed Peter Zuleba III to succeed Fowler as chief executive.

Zuleba, Glenmede’s director of investments, joined Glenmede in 2004 as a senior portfolio manager and director of equity research.

Rockefeller Capital Management

The Maxwell Group, an eight-member team based in Texas, has joined the firm’s global family office division.

Led by managing director and private adviser Kyle Maxwell, the group joins from Merrill Lynch.

Edge Capital Group

The Focus Financial partner firm has hired Brad Parsons as managing director and senior financial adviser focused on ultra-high net worth clients.

He will be based in Edge’s Dallas, Texas office.

Prior to joining Edge, Parsons spent 13 years as a private wealth adviser in the investment management division at Goldman Sachs.

First Republic Bank

The private bank and wealth management has hired a nine-person team led by Tim Argyres, Ted Rice, Nasser Abdulkariem and Greg Argyres in San Francisco.

Tim Argyres, Rice, Abdulkariem and Greg Argyres were each named managing director and wealth manager.

Claudia Rivas was named senior vice president and wealth manager, and Clifford Young was named vice president and wealth manager.

They join from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

Raymond James

Financial advisers Abbie Osterbur and Niralee Patel have joined the fjrm in Champaign, Illinois,

The advisers join from Merrill Lynch, where they previously managed more than $160m in assets.

Their team, which includes senior client service associate Erika Burian, operates as Osterbur Patel Wealth Management of Raymond James.

Elsewhere, Raymond James has hired financial adviser Adrian John.

Adrian J John of Raymond James is located in Seattle, Washington, where he is joined by client services manager Katherine Bowers.

The duo was formerly affiliated with Edward Jones.

UBS Private Wealth Management

The wealth manager has hired a four-person advisor team, McColl, Hunt & Nassar Wealth Management Group, in Chicago, Illinois.

The team is led by private wealth advisers Jim McColl, David Hunt and Brad Nassar.

It is also joined by senior wealth strategist Tanja Ivovic.

M&A

Bluespring Wealth Partners

The wealth management firm has acquired Mississippi-based WealthPartners for an undisclosed sum.

WealthPartners was founded in 2005 by chief executive and wealth adviser John Hill and currently serves approximately 450 clients.

Steward Partners Global Advisory

The advice firm has secured a $140m (£121m, €138m) credit facility to support the next phase of the partnership’s development and fuel its future growth.

The facility was led by Apogem Capital, with support from Manulife Investment Management, and Cynosure Investment Partners.
