US in the news: CI Financial makes 16th acquisition

CI Financial

The Canadian asset and wealth management company has agreed to acquire Brightworth, a registered investment adviser (RIA) firm.

Brightworth provides investment advisory and financial planning services to high net worth individuals, families, business owners, trusts, estates, charitable organizations, pension and profit-sharing plans from offices in Atlanta and Charlotte.

This transaction is CI’s 16th since it entered the RIA market in January 2020.

The financial terms were not disclosed.

Santander Private Banking

The bank has agreed to buy Indosuez Wealth Management’s Miami business.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and satisfaction of customary closing conditions, and is expected to close by mid 2021.

The deal will be executed through Banco Santander International (BSI), part of Santander Private Banking, Grupo Santander’s business unit dedicated to the private banking segment.

People moves

Allianz Life

The insurance company of North America has named Jasmine Jirele as president and chief executive of Allianz Life, succeeding Walter White, who will retire 31 December 2021.

Jirele was an executive vice president within Wells Fargo’s Consumer Bank division, and was previously a senior vice president in Wells Fargo’s wealth and investment management division.

First Republic Bank

The private bank and wealth management company has hired a wealth management team led by Andrew Vahab has in New York City and south Florida.

Vahab and colleague David Guthrie were both named managing director and wealth manager. Evan Soff, David Stecker, and Vincent Zappola were each named senior vice president and wealth manager, while Robert Nicastro and Michael Kantor will be vice president and wealth manager.

They join from Citi.

UBS Private Wealth Management

The wealth manager has hired a four-person team called Executive Wealth Partners to its offices in Ohio.

The team is led by financial advisers Casey Marsh and Austin Poston.

The four-person team includes team administrator Michelle Thomas and client service associate Ashley Monk.

They join from Merrill Lynch.

Private Advisor Group

The wealth management firm has named Verne Marble as director of business development.

Verne most recently served as senior vice president of advisory consulting and senior vice president and southeast divisional manager of business development at LPL Financial.

Raymond James

The financial services firm has promoted Michelle Lynch as senior vice president, investments and Tampa Bay complex manager.

Prior to her current role, she served as vice President, private client group sales manager at the firm.
