US in the news: Broadridge names president

A round-up of the latest people moves and M&A deals in North America

People Moves

Broadridge

The global fintech provider has promoted Chris Perry to president, effective from 2 March 2020.

The role was being covered by current chief executive Tim Gokey, who will stay in the top job and remain a director of the company.

Perry has been working at Broadridge since 2014.

Zoe Financial

Marie Chandoha has joined the advisory committee of New York-based advisory firm Zoe Financial.

She was previously chief executive of Charles Schwab Investment Management.

Chandoha has also become an investor of the company.

RMB Capital

Independent investment advisory firm RMB Capital has promoted Michele Francisco to head of wealth management.

She was previously the firm’s chief of staff.

She replaces Dimitri Eliopoulos, formerly the president of wealth management, who left the firm at the end of January 2020.

UBS Financial Services

With the firm expanding its Boston business to the greater New England market, it has announced that market head James Ducey will lead the teams in both locations.

Three other promotions have been made to cover Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

Jad Dieterle will become northern New England complex manager representing the Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont branches. He was the executive director and branch manager of UBS Portland.

Brittany Manganaro has been named branch manager for the Wellesley, Massachusetts office, having previously managed the Concord and Manchester, New Hampshire branches.

Clare Kiesel will leave the Wellesley office to Manganaro while she relocates to Silicon Valley, California as complex manager.

Cleveland Financial Group

Douglas Ambrose has been hired as a partner and financial planner at Cleveland Financial Group.

He joins from TD Ameritrade where he served as a senior financial consultant for nearly eight years.

Lake Street Advisors

The Porthsmouth, New Hampshire-based wealth and investment advisory firm has promoted Joseph Chase to partner.

He has worked at the firm since 2012.

Lohas Advisors

Social impact investment advisory firm Lohas has recruited Tami Kesselman as a partner.

She is also the founder of Aligned Investing Global a consulting and advisory firm working with both businesses and individuals.

Clifton Larson Allen (CLA)

The members of Los Angeles-based Weil & Company have joined CLA.

They will continue to serve their national and local clients from LA, alongside CLA’s 350-strong team.

Ameriprise Financial

Two advisory teams have joined the firm, bringing in $257m (£198.2m, €233.8m) in assets.

Flatiron Financial Group, led by Rob Normandin and Troy Neily, has left LPL Financial to join the firm.

Similarly, Don DeJonge departed Mass Mutual to work as an adviser at Ameriprise’s Visalia, California office.

M&A

EP Wealth Advisors

The California-based independent registered investment advisory firm has acquired International Research & Asset Management.

This expands the firm’s presence to Texas, and is the 10th acquisition for EP since 2017.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Cresset Capital

The private equity firm has bought a minority stake in wealth management business True Capital Management.

True serves the financial needs of professional athletes and clients who find themselves suddenly wealthy.

The wealth firm’s chief executive and chief operating officers will retain the majority share.

Merchant Investment Management

The investment management firm has acquired a minority stake in the newly-formed Wealth Advisor Growth Network (WAGN).

WAGN was created in October 2019 as an independent wealth firm.

Merchant worked with WAGN since before it was unveiled; and, after buying a minority stake, it will join its advisory board.
