US in the news: Brainvest WM names global CEO

Brainvest Wealth Management

The international multi-family office has named Fernando Gelman as global chief executive.

Gelman was previously chief executive of the firm’s Brazil operation.

Jan Gunnar Karsten will take on the role of Brazil chief executive and a partner of the company.

Brainvest, founded in 2003, is a multi-family office and investment firm for families and entrepreneurs. Brainvest has a presence in the US, Switzerland and Brazil, serving international and US clients.

First Republic Bank

The private bank and wealth management company has hired Radhika Mehta as managing director and wealth manager and Nick Fanneron as vice president and wealth manager.

They both join from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

Fiduciary Trust International

The global wealth manager has appointed Sam Fraenkel as a wealth director based in its Coral Gables office.

Fraenkel was most recently head of mergers and acquisitions at Redzone.

Raymond James

Financial advisers Nicholas Troiano and Mathew Mattice have joined the firm.

The advisers previously worked at TIAA and are joined by senior registered client service associate Christine Blakely.

Together as Next Level Planning & Investments of Raymond James, with offices in Denver and Boulder, Colorado, the group provides an array of financial and investment planning services.

M&A

JTC

The global professional services business has acquired Delaware-headquartered New York Private Trust Company for an undisclosed sum.

NYPTC offers a range of fiduciary services, including trust services, estate administration services and white label trust services to high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families and corporate clients.

The transaction remains subject to various closing conditions and final regulatory approvals and is expected to complete before the end of the year.

Beacon Pointe Advisors

The firm has merged with Benchmark Private Wealth Management.

Benchmark has offices in Dallas and Waco. It marks Beacon Pointe’s fourth deal in Texas and the third in the state within the last year.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Trilogy Financial Services

The US advice firm has acquired E F Heagen & Associates and Mandichak Investment Retirement & Estate Planning for an undisclosed sum.

Ed Heagen started E F Heagen & Associates in 1984. The entire team will fold into Trilogy.

Similarly, Joseph Mandichak has been a financial planner for more than 20 years and will join Trilogy as part of the deal.
