UK law firm boosts private wealth operation with merger

Deal is due to complete in April 2022

BDB Pitmans has agreed a merger with London-based private client law firm Portrait Solicitors.

Portrait Solicitors was founded in 1995 focused on servicing the needs of private clients.

The firm has three partners, Judith Portrait, Dominic Flynn and Helen Johnston, and they and their team of associates will join BDB Pitmans and be based at BDB Pitmans’ London office.

The private wealth law company’s key practice areas are estate planning and Wills, trusts, the administration of estates, charity law, and agriculture and landed estates.

Andrew Smith, managing partner at BDB Pitmans, said: “We are delighted to have agreed this merger with Portrait Solicitors.

“Their expertise will further strengthen our existing highly regarded private wealth and charities teams and our ability to provide the first class advice to our clients for which we are known.”

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed and the transaction is due to complete in April 2022.
