UHY Botello & Marquez, as the firm is now known, was established in 2008. The Panama City-based accountancy is comprised of a team of seven staff and two partners, and looks after clients in South, Central and North America.
Like other firms in the UHY network, it provides its clients with a range of auditing, accounting, tax advisory, management consultancy and legal services.
Diógenes E. Botello, managing partner of UHY Botello & Marquez, said he and his colleagues looked forward to being part a of UHY.
Based in London, the UHY network was founded in 1986, and has offices in nearly 250 cities in 81 countries, employing more than 6,800 people. Its 2011 total revenue of $625m in 2011 makes it the world’s 25th largest international audit, accounting, tax and consultancy network.
The UHY structure is designed in such a way that each member firm is a legally separate and independent entity. The UK group of UHY International is known as UHY Hacker Young.
UHY Botello & Marquez is the latest of several firms to join the UHY network since the beginning of the year.
In February, as reported, a Tunisian firm, Cabinet Nouri Ben Abdelkrim (CNBA), was added, while in May, a Balkan firm, Serbia-based Eki Revizija d.o.o. joined the organisation. Last year, it added its first mainland Chinese member organisation, Shanghai-based ZhongHua CPAs.
