Three UK financial advice firms fail

FSCS has received seven claims so far against the companies

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) announced that three UK-based advice firms have failed.

Firstly, Scotland-based Crosbie Carr Morris Limited was dissolved in December 2022, according to Companies House. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) register also added that the firm has not been authorised since February 2022.

The UK lifeboat scheme told International Adviser that it has received three claims so far – all related to unsuitable pension advice.

Secondly, Oxford-based Focus Oxford LLP, also known as Focus Independent Financial Advisers and Independent Insurance Consultants, has not been authorised since August 2018.

The FSCS has received two claims so far relating to unsuitable pension transfer advice.

Lastly, Leslie & Swallow LLP, also known as Aston Collie, has not been authorised since November 2019, according to the FCA register.

The UK lifeboat scheme has received two claims so far relating to unsuitable pension transfer advice.
