Based in Hong Kong, Wong will join SSGA in March and be responsible for developing and implementing the regional business strategy and growth plans across the north Asia and south east Asia regions.
Wong was hired from Columbia Threadneedle, where she served as vice chairman for Asia Pacific and chief executive of the Hong Kong business. Prior to this, she served as head of Institutions at AllianceBernstein and head of Business Development for HSBC Asset Management.
Wong will report directly to Lochiel Crafter, head of State Street Global Advisors’ APAC business.
“June brings over two decades of experience and expertise leading institutional business development and strategy to this role. She will be an enormous asset to the business and is well-positioned to understand the varying and complex needs of our clients and to drive SSGA’s strategic growth ambitions across the region,” said Crafter.
