The arrival of the three tax specialists gives Edwin Coe’s Private Client Group expertise in the area of tax advice and dispute resolution for the first time.
Accompanying Strachan – who becomes a partner at Edwin Coe – in his move from LSG are Sean Bannister, who has been appointed a senior associate at Edwin Coe, and Ashley Fletcher, tax assistant.
Prior to joining LSG, Strachan had been an associate director at Grant Thornton. Among his areas of expertise is the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility, a tax amnesty scheme that enables UK taxpayers to come clean to HM Revenue & Customs about any undisclosed offshore assets, in exchange for reduced penalties.
Strachan and his team specialise in a number of HMRC investigation areas as well, and have experience providing tax advice to high net worth individuals and families.
The head of Edwin Coe’s private client operations, Nick Giles, said Strachan and his team would be a "valuable addition" to the law firm’s mix of services aimed at high net worth individuals.
Edwin Coe dates back to 1913.
