The concept of policy segments in the offshore bond world is well known, but Standard Life’s Harvest Wealth product launch in Hong Kong on 19 Sept is seen as reflecting a growing sophistication in targeting internationally mobile clients.

Harvest Wealth is also Standard Life’s first product to directly reward clients through a loyalty bonus, paying 1% of the total contribution amount on every fifth anniversary date.

Investments may now be made in two new currencies, Singapore dollars and Australian dollars, as well as US dollars, Hong Kong dollars, pounds sterling, euros and Japanese yen. Life assurance is offered for up to six policy owners and lives, and there are also 295 investment choices from 24 different fund management groups.

Standard Life (Asia) chief executive Roy Halliday said: “Harvest Wealth was designed as a solution for the long term financial planning of sophisticated local and international customers.”

From 19 Sept to 31 Dec, 2012, clients who successfully apply for the plan may be eligible to enjoy a total extra allocation of up to 70% to assist further growth potential.

During this promotion period, all clients who have successfully applied for the plan will be eligible to join Standard Life’s membership club – “Pinnacle Club” and receive offers.
