Standard Bank launches emerging market structured plan

Standard Bank Offshore has launched a structured product linked to returns in Brazil and China.

The Emerging Accumulator plan links to potential returns from the performance of two underlying investments, the iShare MSCI Brazil Index Fund and the Hang Seng China Enterprise Index.

Open for subscriptions until 14 December, the plan pays 11.75% per year and 14.5% per year for its sterling and US dollar denominations, respectively, if the iShares MSCI Brazil Index Fund and the Hang Seng China Enterprise Index close at or above their respective start levels on an annual review date, at which point the product will terminate.

The product therefore has the potential for early maturity after one, two, three or four years. Capital will be protected as long as neither of the underlying investments close below 50% of their start levels during the investment term. Minimum investments amounts are £50,000 or $75,000.

Meanwhile, the Quantum Plus 4, the fourth in its series of split deposit structured plans, divides a client’s money equally between two deposits: Quantum and Plus. Both deposits are designed to return original capital deposited along with the potential gains at their respective maturity dates.
The Quantum portion pays a rate of 5% AER for sterling, US dollar and euro or 12% AER for Australian dollar. This half of the deposit matures in full after the first year.

The Plus portion is linked to the potential growth of one of the world’s leading stock market indexes over the five-year term with a participation rate of 50% and is redeemed after five years. Sterling deposits are linked to the FTSE 100, US dollar deposits are linked to the S&P 500, euro deposits are linked to the EURO STOXX 50 and Australian dollar deposits are linked to the S&P/ASX 200.

Minimum deposit amounts are £10,000, US$20,000, €15,000 or A$20,000 and the plan will close for subscription on the 14 December.
