Skinner currently serves as the chief operating officer, life & pensions, for Aegon UK. Since joining Aegon as customer services director in April 2009, he has been responsible for the firm’s UK customer services strategy and delivering its cost reduction programme. Skinner previously held senior positions with Scottish Widows, Equitable Life and the Automobile Association.
“Aegon Ireland is well positioned to capitalise on the substantial growth opportunities for variable annuities, both in the UK and across Europe,” said Adrian Grace, the chief executive of Aegon UK. “I’ve worked closely with Simon in the two years since he joined Aegon and I’m confident he is the right person to lead Aegon Ireland through the next phase of its development.
“David has been part of our international operation from the outset and has played a key role in developing the company from its small beginnings to the market-leading product offering it provides today. I want to thank him for his significant contribution over the years and wish him well in his future career.”
Healy, who joined Scottish Equitable International (later rebranded Aegon Ireland) in 1995 and became its managing director two years later, will leave the firm this month. Since the company moved to Dublin in 2002, it has grown from ten employees to over 200, and to €4bn in assets under management.
