Ellis joins the company from Allianz where he was head of Asia, life and health. In his new role he will be responsible for operations, regulatory functions and strategic relationship development and, as part of Skandia International’s sales leadership team, will report to sales director Victor France.

MacDonald, who held the position until resigning in March this year, recently joined Swedish company JOOL Capital Partner AB to head its new international division JOOL Capital Partner International.

In addition to Ellis, Skandia has appointed Chris Ivinson to the newly created role of head of sales for the region. Ivinson, who will report directly to Ellis, has been with Skandia in Singapore since 2006. In his new role he will have responsibility for expanding Skandia International’s distribution base across the region.

Skandia has also added to its Hong Kong team, with the appointment of Alan Leung to the newly created role of head of strategic development for the Hong Kong region. He will report to Mike Leeson, Royal Skandia head of sales for Hong Kong and NE Asia.

In this role, Skandia said Leung will focus on supporting the local Hong Kong and Chinese distribution partners as well as identifying new opportunities to expand sales across the region. He joins the company from Swiss Privilege where he held a number of strategic roles since 2006.
