SchrodersGO offers information about Schroders and its products, runs comparative searches and gives real-time market information.

The pilot version of the chatbot launched in Singapore on 14 December in close collaboration with key distribution partners Citi, Income, UOB and Synergy Financial Advisers. The full version of SchrodersGO is expected to launch globally this month.

Graham Kellen, chief digital officer at Schroders, commented: “We are excited to be among the first asset managers in the world to launch a chatbot to combine our clients’ and partners’ preference for digital research and engagement with us via channels such as instant messaging and chat.

“The concept of SchrodersGo was a direct outcome from an internal innovation event and showcases how an employee-led idea developed from whiteboard sketches to client launch in the space of just eighteen months. It’s also a great example of how as a global business, our propositions are increasingly delivered through close co-operation between international locations and facilitated through the use of modern digital working practices.”

John Troiano, global head of distribution at Schroders, said: “Our clients needs on how to access information have evolved over the past years. They expect a round-the-clock service and to be able to access information anywhere from a variety of electronic devices. With the launch of SchrodersGo we are able to cater to their needs without compromising on quality. SchrodersGO is a sophisticated tool that will work in addition to our first class sales proposition and complement our client service offering.”

Schroders say the bot is “backed by deep learning and natural language processing capabilities, the chatbot is able to self-learn and answer three-dimensional questions, which makes it a lot more powerful than fund lists commonly provided on websites.”

SchrodersGO is built in partnership with Singapore-based start-up, pand.ai.
