Andrew Dudgeon, product & investment marketing manager at RL360° said: “Guinness funds have attracted significant levels of investment since their introduction into the RL360° ranges, and we are pleased to be able to add their Asian Equity Income Fund, complementing an already strong presence on the fund menu.”

Since launch on 19 December 2013, the fund has achieved 11.1% total return in GBP, which puts it comfortably ahead of the IA Asia Pacific ex Japan sector (-1.6% in GBP) and the MSCI AC Pacific ex Japan Index (-5.8% in GBP).

APAC exposure

The fund is designed to provide investors with exposure to high quality dividend-paying companies in the Asia Pacific region that persistently achieve above average returns of at least 8% every year for at least eight consecutive years and which the managers believe have been undervalued by the market.

It is constructed using the same philosophy and investment process as the five year old Guinness Global Equity Fund, also available in the RL360° direct fund range.

Fund manager Edmund Harriss, who has over 20 years’ experience of managing Asian funds, constructed the fund to give investors access to the exciting growth opportunities of emerging and developed Asia, while mitigating some of the risks by investing in quality companies.

The Guinness Funds are promoted to the offshore market by Acorn International Fund Distribution.
