The company, which is part of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Ben Taylor as a director and relationship manager on the desk, tasked with “extending the business’ reach into the Middle Eastern markets, with a specific focus on Abu Dhabi and Oman”.
It is the second time RBC has made an appointment to this team in recent weeks, having previously appointed Yousif Banayoti from Credit Suisse Private Banking in the UAE in June.
Taylor joins from HSBC Private Bank in London where since 2010 he was relationship manager for the MENA region, focusing on the UAE and Oman. Prior to this he acted as relationship manager high net worth clients in the UK.
In his new role, Taylor will report to Neena Shah, head of the Middle East & Levant desk.
Philip Harris, head of UK Private Client Wealth Management commented: “Our Middle East & Levant desk continues to grow in strength after having been launched just over a year ago. Our team is increasingly dealing with inquiries from the region and we see a real opportunity to build further upon this success. Ben’s experience and knowledge makes him a great addition to a growing team.”
