Quilter Jersey has appointed Francis Clayton as an executive director, while Tim Sanders has left.

Clayton, an investment director at Collins Stewart, is expected to take up his position in early 2012. According to Quilter, the appointment is in response to growing demand for the firm’s services in Jersey. The company’s funds under management on the island have grown by 24% over the past year, it says.

Tim Childe, head of Quilter’s Jersey office, said: “We place a great emphasis on providing truly bespoke investment solutions for our clients, and Francis’s experience with financial intermediaries and private clients will be a significant asset to the continued growth of Quilter in Jersey.”

Sanders will join Spearpoint, a Jersey-based wealth management boutique, as a member of its portfolio management team in September. Paul Stephens, Spearpoint’s head of business development, says the appointment is designed to support business expansion.

The firm has grown significantly since it launched three years ago, Stephens says, and aims to increase the amount of investment advice it sells to clients of a local pension business it acquired last year.
