Premier Miton has hired Tatton’s Chris Robinson as MPS investment director, to work on the company’s recently-launched model portfolio service.
Robinson, who previously spent seven years as head of the investment specialist team at Tatton, will join Premier Miton’s multi-manager investment team, led by Ian Rees. Prior to joining 7IM, Robinson spent four years at Duncan Lawrie Private Banking as an investment research analyst.
Premier Miton’s new MPS, which was launched last month owing to increased demand from advisers, currently offers an Index range and a Blend range – both of which are actively-managed. Four portfolios reside in each range.

Jonathan Willcocks, Premier Miton’s global head of distribution, said: “We are delighted to welcome Chris to our multi-manager investment team to work alongside Ian Rees and the rest of the team utilising his extensive specialist knowledge and experience in MPS as we take our new service to market.
“We are seeing increasing demand from advisers for cost-effective investment solutions that use the architecture of established investment platforms while tapping into the diversification benefits of multi-manager investing; we’ve combined the best of both worlds by providing access to our multi-manager team’s decades of investment experience and expertise, within an MPS framework, and we look forward to Chris helping us grow business into this area.”
Robinson added that he is “delighted” to be taking on the new role at Premier Miton. “The company’s ambitious plans to grow their business through attractive investment products, with a proven long-term performance track record and supported by excellent client service were key factors in my decision to join, and the opportunity to utilise my previous experience to manage this new product offering with its cost-effective pricing point.”
