The Guildford-headquartered firm is reported in The Sunday Times to have hired brokers Keefe, Bruyette & Woods and Numis to work on a £200m ($259m, €232m)  listing by the end of this year.

Premier was previously listed before 2007 when Electra Partners invested £33m in support of a £57m take-private deal. Premier’s funds under management at that time totalled £1.8bn.

In 2009, Electra and Premier brokered a deal with Aberdeen Asset Management to acquire the management contracts of two Oeic fund umbrellas containing 10 open-ended funds comprising £910m of assets under management.

This acquisition took Premier’s AUM to approximately £2.5bn at the end of 2009, and the figure has since grown to £4.9bn as at end of August 2016.

In October 2014 Electra sold a 50.2% stake in Premier to Elcot Capital Management, an investment management firm led by Premier’s chairman Mike Vogel, though the private equity house continues to hold a significant minority interest in Premier in the form of ordinary and preference shares.
