Isle of Man-headquartered International Financial Group Limited (IFGL) has appointed Philip Salter as chairman of its Wirral-based self-invested personal pension (Sipp) business.

This follows the rebrand of Sovereign Pension Services (SPS) to IFGL Pensions and the hiring of Rachel Meadows as IFGL Pensions managing director.

Salter has over 30 years of regulatory and industry experience at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

He is expert in managing risk, change and problem solving, and has a range of experience across regulation, technology, compliance, governance and risk management, which is supported by knowledge of financial products and services.

Salter said: “I am delighted to become chairman of IFGL Pensions. We have ambitions to grow this business with a service-led and cost-effective Sipp proposition that puts customers at the heart of its business.”
