Insurance giant names UK chief executive, while investment firm replaces retiring CEO

Zurich

The life insurance giant has named Tim Bailey as UK chief executive.

Bailey is currently Zurich’s chief operating officer for Emea.

He replaces Tulsi Naidu, who will join the Zurich Group executive committee to take over as regional chief executive of the Asia Pacific region from 1 January 2021.

Wellington Management

The global independent investment management firm has announced chief executive Brendan Swords will retire from the company on 30 June 2021.

At that time, managing partner Jean Hynes will succeed him.

Kleinwort Hambros

Fahad Kamal has been named as chief investment officer at the wealth firm.

He was previously the firm’s chief market strategist.

Kamal will continue to head the strategy and portfolio construction teams.

Falcon Private

The Swiss firm has named Matteo Maccio as chief executive as of 1 September 2020.

Maccio was previously the firm’s chief financial officer.

He replaces Martin Keller, who has resigned in mutual agreement with the board in the course of the wind-down of the bank announced in May 2020.

Aktia Life Insurance

Riikka Luukko has been appointed as chief executive of the Finnish life insurer.

She was previously director of business development at Aktia.

The current chief executive, Seppo Sibakov, will continue as the executive vice president of the company.

Lyxor Asset Management

The investment firm has named Florence Barjou as chief investment officer.

She was previously deputy chief investment officer.

Barjou is taking over from Guillaume Lasserre, who is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.

Cité Gestion

The Lombard Odier subsidiary has appointed Christian Hirt, Charles-Aymeric Hainault, Gauthier Merkli, Patrick Voegeli and Christoph Enz as partners.

Before joining Cité Gestion, they worked for Swiss and international banks.

Van Lanschot Kempen

The Dutch wealth manager appointed Erik van Houwelingen to its executive board.

He will also chair the board of Kempen Capital Management, subject to regulatory approval.

Van Houwelingen succeeds Leni Boeren, who stepped down earlier this year.

He will join from Dimensional Fund Advisors in London, where he has been the head of client group Europe.

Ascot Lloyd

The IFA firm has named Stuart MacGregor as adviser relationship manager, according to his Linkedin profile.

MacGregor was previously at Close Brothers Asset Management, where he was financial planner, acquisition director and director of special projects.

Aviva Investors

The global asset management business of Aviva has strengthened its multi-manager research team with the appointment of Amrish Patel as senior research analyst.

Patel joins from MetLife Investments, where he was an associate in the investment management oversight team.
