Waverton Investment Management
The firm has hired George Bromfield as head of adviser solutions. He was previously a senior investment director and head of London at Brooks Macdonald.
Bromfield was at Brooks Macdonald for over 16 years, and over that time managed investments for clients as well as growing teams that focused on serving the adviser market.
He joins a team that has been built up over the recent years by John Bellamy. Bellamy will remain with Waverton as managing director of adviser solutions as well as a member of the Waverton Management Committee. This appointment will allow Bellamy to focus on opening up new international and offshore expat markets for its multi-asset fund range and the MPS offering.
Axa Investment Managers
Technology investment team head Jeremy Gleeson will exit the firm in August. He has led the £1.27bn Axa Framlington Global Technology fund since joining the firm in June 2007.
Gleeson has also been lead manager on the Digital Economy fund since its launch in 2017, alongside being the global technology specialist for the Axa IM equity team. He has also co-managed the firm’s Robotech strategies since 2015.
In the interim, fund management responsibilities will continue to be carried out by the technology investment team, led by head of global thematic strategies Tom Riley and portfolio managers Brad Reynolds and Pauline Llandric.
Jupiter
The firm has confirmed that JO Hambro fund manager Alex Savvides will officially join the firm on 7 October, ahead of Ben Whitmore’s departure.
Savvides’ move was first announced in January, following the announcement of Whitmore’s exit to launch his own value equity boutique – Brickwood Asset Management.
Whitmore will now stay at Jupiter until at least the end of October, Jupiter said.
Savvides will be joined by investment manager Stephanie Geary and analyst Siddharth Sukumar, who will join Jupiter in late July 2024 to work on the UK Special Situations fund. The duo worked under Savvides on the UK Dynamic Equity fund at JO Hambro.
Schroders
Value fund manager Kevin Murphy has exited the firm after 24 years.
His exit will see fellow value manager Nick Kirrage take full responsibility for the firm’s global value team.
Kirrage will also rejoin Andrew Lyddon and Andy Evans on all UK value strategies, which he managed from 2013 until 2022, before his role shifted to focus on global portfolios.
Alongside Lyddon and Evans, Kirrage will become a named manager on the UK-focused Schroder Recovery, Schroder Income & Schroder Income Maximiser Funds, and UK Equity Value segregated mandates.
Boutique Capital Partners
Former Ninety One head of UK wealth Rodger Kennedy has set up his own outsourced fund distribution company alongside Columbia Threadneedle’s Kelly Prior and Square Mile’s Steve Kenny.
He left his last role in January to launch Boutique Capital Partners after 23 years at the firm. Kennedy now intends to use his extensive connections across the UK fund buyer market to promote and distribute his partners’ investment strategies to UK intermediaries.
