Vanguard
David Kim has been appointed managing director of Japan at Vanguard and will serve as a member of the Asian leadership team. Kim replaces David Cermak, who was promoted to head of Vanguard Asia late last year. Kim will report directly to Cermak.
In his more than eight years with Vanguard, Kim has held several roles, most recently as head of midmarket retirement plan client services. Prior to that, he worked in the financial adviser services business as head of broker-dealer channel management and adviser services.
Before joining Vanguard, Kim was a principal at the global management consultant firm Bain & Company. He also held positions at American Express and CSC Index.
Generali Investments
Timothy Ryan, chief investment officer of Generali Group, has been named chairman of the board of Generali Investors.
Santo Borsellino, chief executive of Generali Investments, has had his mandate renewed for a further three years.
In a further change, Bruno Servant, currently interim head of group investment management and chief investment officer of Generali France, has joined the investment division’s board of directors.
Wealth Club
After just one year, the co-founder of investment service Wealth Club, Ben Yearsley, has left the business to pursue his other non-executive roles. He founded the company in early 2016 alongside Alex Davies.
He explained that his role at Wealth Club had evolved into a full-time job and he did not want to sacrifice his non-executive work at Shore Financial Planning or his place on the investment committee at the Downing Diversified Global Managers Fund.
Before setting up Wealth Club, Yearsley spent 15 years at Hargreaves Lansdown and three years at Charles Stanley.
Tavistock Investments
Tavistock has appointed Mark Evans as business development director. He will work closely with chief executive Brian Raven and be responsible for all business development activity across the group.
He brings with him 28 years’ business experience and industry knowledge in both the UK and overseas.
Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research
Former Rathbone Brothers chief executive Adam Pomfret has become chairman of the board at Square Mile, following the departure of Simon Davies. The change is effective immediately.
Currently a non-executive director at Sanne Group, Interactive Investor and three investment trusts, Pomfret brings with him 30 years’ financial services experience.
Intertrust
Intertrust has four new client-facing directors following a recent set of promotions.
Roger Bolan has been promoted to a director within the Jersey private wealth team, while Alex Di Santo has been promoted to director of funds.
Shane Hugill has been elevated to director of Performance & Reward Management, which houses three specialist teams; share plans, pensions and deferred compensation plans.
Stephen Langan has been promoted to director of the Capital Markets team in Jersey, which provides administration, agency and ancillary services to vehicles established for debt capital markets and asset finance transactions.
European Federation of Financial Intermediaries and Financial Advisers (Fecif)
David Charlet has stepped up to the role of chairman of the Fecif Executive, having previously served as vice-chairman. He replaces Johannes Muschik who, after six years as part of the Executive team, was unable to stand for election again due to work commitments.
Charlet’s successor as vice-chairman has been named as Jiri Sindelar.
Paul Stanfield was voted secretary general and will hold the post for another three-year term, with Kevin Mudd remaining treasurer, a role he has held for many years.
