UK sales director departs life insurer, as rival poaches business technical manager from Just Group

Utmost Wealth Solutions

James Warburton will leave his role as UK sales director after three and a half years at the firm.

He is set to join Octopus Investments in March, according to a Linkedin post.

Canada Life

The insurance firm has appointed Jeremy Martin as a pension, tax and estate planning consultant.

Reporting to Andrew Tully, Martin will be responsible for supporting advisers to help them take advantage of regulatory and technical change, with a focus on retirement and estate planning.

He joins from Just Group, where he was a business technical manager.

Bank of Singapore

Celine Le Cotonnec has been named as chief data and innovation officer.

She joins from Axa Insurance Singapore, where she held a similar position.

Quilter Financial Planning

The firm has named Stuart Rimmer as its regional director for the south west.

Rimmer joins Quilter from St James’s Place, where he was senior manager for business acquisition.

Prior to this, he held management roles at Octopus Investments, Met Life and Clerical Medical.

In his new role, Rimmer will take on responsibility for recruiting members into the Quilter Financial Planning network in the south west.

He takes on the role from outgoing regional director Simon Hill, who has now retired.

Financial Conduct Authority

The UK watchdog has promoted Sheldon Mills to interim executive director of strategy and competition.

Currently the FCA’s director of competition, Mills will replace Christopher Woolard as he steps into the role of interim chief executive.

Mills will become a member of the FCA’s executive committee.

He joined the FCA in September 2018 from the Competition and Markets Authority, where he served as a senior director for mergers and state aid.

JHC Systems

The wealth management fintech firm has promoted Ron Tomlinson to chief technology officer.

He has been head of solutions development at JHC since January 2018.

In his new role, Tomlinson will now be responsible for all delivery teams as well as leading JHC’s technology strategy to ensure a constantly evolving suite of services and platforms.
