UBS
Iqbal Khan has been named as co-president of global wealth management alongside Tom Naratil.
Khan was previously chief executive of international wealth management and a member of the executive board at Credit Suisse.
He succeeds Martin Blessing, who has decided to step down from the role he has held since February 2018.
Blessing will remain with UBS until 31 December 2019 to ensure a smooth transition.
Also, Ulrich Koerner has decided to step down from his roles as president of asset management and president UBS Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He will remain with UBS as senior advisor to the group chief executive until at least 31 March 2020.
Koerner has been president of Emea since November 2011 and president of asset management since 2014.
Suni Harford will join the group executive board of UBS and succeed Koerner as president of asset management.
She joined UBS in 2017 in her current role as head of investments for UBS Asset Management.
Sabine Keller-Busse will succeed Koerner as president of UBS Emea in addition to her current role as group chief operating officer.
Keller-Busse joined UBS in 2010, first holding the role of chief operating officer of UBS Switzerland and then group head of human resources.
Seven Investment Management
The UK-based investment firm has hired Chris Phillips as chief client officer.
Reporting to 7IM’s chief executive, Dean Proctor, Phillips will be responsible for the firm’s marketing, proposition and digital and client experience.
Phillips joins from Lloyds Bank, where he was personal current account products director.
Prior to this, he held a number of senior financial services roles, including at Barclays, where he was head of retail segments customer experience.
Natixis Investment Managers
The asset manager has appointed Diane Poon as head of wholesale for southeast Asia (SEA) ex-Singapore.
Also, Bonnie Wan has been named vice president of distribution marketing.
Both will be based in the Singapore office.
Poon joins Natixis IM from Pimco, where she used to service private banks and SEA countries as vice president of its global wealth management team.
Wan will primarily assist the wholesale and retail sales team in Singapore, SEA and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Natixis IM, Bonnie held roles at UBS Asset Management and BNP Paribas Asset Management in Hong Kong and Singapore, Eastspring Investments in Singapore and Blackrock in Hong Kong.
Lombard International
The life assurance firm has promoted Florent Albert to global chief financial officer and Rui Pinto has joined the business as chief financial officer for Europe.
Albert will report to John Hillman, group chief executive and Pinto will report to Axel Hörger, chief executive of Europe, as well as to Albert.
Pinto has joined from iptiQ Life SA in Luxembourg, a Swiss-Re company, where he held the position of chief financial officer.
Aegon
The Dutch life insurer has named Tim Orton as managing director of investments.
He will be responsible for the delivery and development of Aegon’s investment proposition both in the retail and workplace markets.
Orton most recently held the position of managing director of savings at Aviva UK.
RBC Wealth Management
Andrew Cheng has joined the banking group in Hong Kong as executive director of private banking.
Cheng reports to Vicky Lin, deputy head of private banking and greater China in Hong Kong.
He joins from CA Indosuez (Switzerland) in Hong Kong, where he was managing director.
At the same time, Andrew White joins RBC Wealth Management’s Singapore office as director of private banking.
White reports to Dom Lane, executive director and team head of private banking in Singapore.
He has 14 years of industry experience and joins from Sandaire, where he was most recently chief investment officer Asia in its Singapore office.
EFG International
Amy Yip has been appointed as chair of the firm’s Asia Pacific advisory board.
She succeeds Seng Tee Fong, who decided to step down as chair.
In the role, Yip will work closely with the board of directors and the Asia Pacific executive chairman, Albert Chiu, and his regional management team to help drive and oversee the expansion of EFG’s business in Asia Pacific.
Yip has more than 40 years of private banking experience and is a member of the board of directors of Fidelity International, Deutsche Boerse, Temenos and American International Group.
Walker Crips Investment Management
The UK investment and wealth management group has hired Rachel Blythe as an investment manager to strengthen the firm’s York-based team.
Bylthe joins Walker Crips from Progeny Asset Management, a financial advice and legal solutions firm she co-founded in 2016.
She started her career at Redmayne Bentley working across its corporate actions, Isas, compliance and investment teams.
Quantum Advisory
The independent pension consultancy firm has named Julian Fox as principal consultant.
Fox will support the management of administration, consulting and secretarial services in the Birmingham region.
He has over 30 years’ experience in the pensions industry, having worked in various consulting and client relationship management roles at JLT, Aon Consulting and Sedgwick Noble Lowndes.
Fieldfisher
The international law firm has hired Peter Golden as head of its private client practice.
Gordon will join the firm from fellow law group Linklaters, where he has led the trusts team since 2016.
He will join Fieldfisher’s existing private client team, freeing up the current head of the practice, Penny Wotton, to devote more time to the firm’s charity client base.
Also, Alistair Robertson will join the firm as a partner.
Prior to Fieldfisher, he was also at Linklaters, where he was a managing associate.
Robertson advises international individuals, families, trustees, family offices and private banks on succession planning, personal taxation and trust law.
