Managing director of international arm named, while wealth manager boosts UK ambitions

Tilney Smith & Williamson International

Matt Falla has joined the recently merged firm as managing director of the international arm, based in Jersey.

He was previously head of private banking, Channel Islands at Kleinwort Hambros.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Falla started his career at RBS International, then spent five years at HSBC before joining SG Hambros in 2005.

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management

Alexis Pateras has been appointed relationship manager as part of the firm’s growth strategy for wealth management in the UK.

He spent the past 13 years at UBS and will report to James Whittaker, who also joined from UBS in October to head UK coverage.

Deutsche Bank created its international private bank in June after combining its wealth management and private & commercial business international units.

Standard Chartered Private Bank

Grant Parkinson has been named regional head, private banking, Europe, Africa and Middle East, subject to regulatory approval.

He was previously chief operating officer at Coutts between 2013 and 2017, before joining Brewin Dolphin in a similar role.

His appointment comes as Steve Atkinson, regional head, private banking West, is to step down in December after three decades with Standard Chartered.

Janus Henderson

Paul LaCoursiere has been appointed to the newly created role of global head of environmental, social and governance investments.

He is set to join Janus Henderson on 6 January 2021 and will bring more than 20 years’ investment research with him.

LaCoursiere will be based in the London office and report to Enrique Chang, global chief investment officer. He joins from Aviva Investors, where he has held various roles since 2014; most recently global head of ESG research.

Premier Miton Investors

Emma Mogford is to join the firm as manager of the three Premier Miton UK equity income funds this month.

She was previously lead manager of the BNY Mellon UK income fund at Newton Investment Management.

BDB Pitmans

The law firm has hired two partners for its private wealth team. Jonathan Colclough and Marilyn McKeever join from New Quadrant Partners.

Colclough advises UK resident and international clients on UK tax, trust, estate and succession issues with a particular focus on international cross-border matters for non-UK domiciled clients, offshore trustees and family offices.

McKeever specialises in international and UK tax and estate planning, including personal, especially non-domicile, and trust taxation, and has over 30 years’ experience. She works principally with international individuals and families, and the trustees of their trusts, in particular where there is a US connection, to help manage family wealth.

Colliers International

The global commercial real estate services and investment management firm has named Antoine Derville as chief executive, France and Belgium.

Current chief executive Gilles Betthaeuser remains a shareholder of Colliers in France and will become chairman, focussing on client service and business development.

Derville joins from Cushman & Wakefield, where he was head of France.
