Strabens Hall
Financial planning firm Strabens Hall has named Peter Sayers as head of international business development.
He will promote the company’s wealth planning services to clients focusing on offshore jurisdictions such as the Channel Islands, Switzerland, Monaco and Bermuda.
Before joining Strabens, Sayers was a partner at a multi-disciplinary wealth management business with offices in Jersey, Switzerland and Cyprus.
PineBridge Investments
Mick Sweeney has been hired as chief executive of the firm’s Irish business.
He will be based in Dublin and will be responsible for the development of the Irish client-base.
Sweeney will have governance responsibilities in support of the Management Company and will be PineBridge’s main contact with the Central Bank of Ireland.
Before accepting the top job, he was the chief executive of Bank of Ireland Wealth Management; as well as interim chief executive of New Ireland Assurance, the second-largest pension and life assurance provider in the country.
Quilter Investors
Chief executive Paul Simpson is taking direct oversight of the firm’s investment desk until a senior portfolio manager is hired.
He will now take a more active role in leading the team, following Anthony Gillham’s decision to leave the company after nearly two decades.
No details were given about Gillham’s departure.
Despite lacking a senior portfolio manager, Quilter Investors is preparing to roll out an income product range.
M&GPrudential
The UK and European savings and investment business of Prudential has appointed Clare Thompson as non-executive director and chair of the audit committee.
She joins the board with immediate effect, following her approval by the Prudential Regulatory Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority.
Thompson joins as the firm prepares to demerge from Prudential.
Equiom
The global professional service provider has named James Russel managing director of the Hong Kong business.
Based in the special administrative region, he will be responsible for managing the company’s strategy and overseeing the business performance.
RBC Wealth Management
Dave Thomas has been promoted to head of RBC Wealth Management – International.
He will lead the UK and Channel Island businesses and will also continue his role as chief executive of RBC Capital Markets Europe.
The newly-created role is based in London.
Stonehage Fleming
Julie Gauthier joins the London-based family office as business development officer in Switzerland.
She will be working across Stonehage Fleming’s three Swiss offices and will focus on developing and managing relationships with potential clients and business introducers.
Her appointment is effective immediately and the role was created for her.
Hawksmoor Investment Management
The UK-based discretionary management service provider has named Brian Ashford-Russell non-executive director of the company.
He is the founder and non-executive director of Polar Capital.
The move follows James Brent being named chairmen of the firm earlier this year, as well as the fact that Sarah Soar will join Hawksmoor in the autumn taking over from John Crowley as chief executive.
Indosuez Wealth Management
The global wealth management brand of Credit Agricole Group has hired Ting May Woo as head of investment advisory in Singapore.
She will develop investment strategies and offer bespoke portfolios to the bank’s high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
Previously, Woo was the director of the active portfolio advisory team at UBS.
IQ-EQ
Steve Sokić joins the investor services group, effective immediately.
He has been appointed group head of private wealth and will sit on the management board and business executive committee.
Sokić joins from a FTSE 250 alternative asset and corporate administration services provider, where he was managing director of its corporate and private client segment.
