Standard Life Aberdeen appoint UK propositions manager, while UBS Asia appoints new president

Standard Life Aberdeen

David Tiller has been appointed to the newly created role of head of UK Propositions for Standard Life Aberdeen, the company formed by the merger of Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management.

Tiller retains his current responsibility for Standard Life’s Wrap and Elevate Platforms, with his remit now extended to develop client solutions involving the ongoing integration of technology, tax and investments.

UBS

UBS has appointed Edmund Koh as the first Singaporean president of UBS Asia Pacific replacing Kathy Shih who is retiring from the bank after 30 years. He will take up his position in January 2019. Koh was previously head of wealth management for Asia Pacific and country head Singapore. He also joins the group executive board of UBS Group.

Koh spent six years with UBS, having first joined the bank in 2012 as head of wealth management for south-east Asia, coming from Taiwan’s Ta Chong Bank where he served for four years as president and director.

DWS

Asoka Woehrmann has been appointed chief executive of the DWS Group with immediate effect and simultaneously senior group director for the asset management business. Woehrmann will be assuming roles previously performed by Nicolas Moreau, who ceases to be a managing director of DWS Group at the end of the year.

Woehrmann has previously been global chief investment officer and has also held senior roles at Deutsche Bank’s Private & Commercial Bank (PCB).

Robeco

Robeco has hired Asian equities specialist Joshua Crabb Asian a senior portfolio manager in its Hong Kong office. He exited what was then Old Mutual Global Investors in April.

Openwork

UK adviser network Openwork has appointed Claire Oldstein as marketing director. She will join the executive team and lead all marketing, communications and brand-related activity. She joins the company from MetLife, where she spent 10 years in various positions, most recently as Emea head of brand and integrated marketing.

Axa IM

AXA Investment Managers (Axa IM) has appointed Yannig Loyer as Global Head of Trading. Loyer will manage the Fixed Income, Equity, and FX trading globally. He will be responsible for the leadership, development, oversight, and performance of Axa IM’s execution capabilities. Based in Paris, he will report to Daniel Leon, head of engineering and trading.
