Henry Baye has been promoted to chief executive of Jersey by the banking group.
He is responsible for the overall country strategy for the bank in Jersey, which serves clients from retail banking and private banking segments.
Baye has 22 years’ experience across distribution, wealth management and personal lending.
Most recently, he was head of retail banking for the Ghana and west Africa region at the bank.
HSBC Global Asset Management
The company has hired Nicolas Moreau as chief executive, effective from September.
Moreau was most recently chief executive of European asset manager DWS.
He replaces Sri Chandrasekharan, who after seven years in the role will be moving into another senior role within the HSBC Group.
This will be announced in due course.
Teladoc Health
The global virtual healthcare provider has named David Sides as chief operating officer.
He joins Teladoc Health from Streamline Health, where he served as chief executive.
Prior to that, Sides was chief executive of global clinical information systems provider iMDsoft.
Julius Baer
John Cappetta, managing director and senior adviser, has resigned from the bank in Singapore after nearly six years, reports our sister publication Fund Selector Asia.
Before Julius Baer, Cappetta was head of mutual fund sales in Singapore at Merrill Lynch, a firm he returned to after leaving in 2001.
He was with Merrill Lynch in various senior sales roles in the US, Singapore and Australia from 1991-2001.
RBC Wealth Management
The firm has hired Dom Lane as executive director and team head of private banking in Asia and Vicky Lin as deputy head of private banking, greater China.
Lane joins RBC Wealth Management’s Singapore office.
He has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry across Asia and Europe, most recently as executive director (expatriate desk) at UBS.
In this role, Lane will report to Mike Reed, head of wealth management for southeast Asia and chief executive of the RBC Singapore branch.
Lin joins the wealth manager’s Hong Kong office and will be responsible for growing the company’s client book in greater China.
She held senior roles at EFG Private Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Morgan Stanley, where she spent over a decade.
In the role, Lin will report to Ignatius Chong, managing director and head of private banking, greater China.
Deutsche Bank Wealth Management
The bank has hired Abhishek Sharma, Ravi Sidhu and Kabir Sharma as directors and relationship managers for its global south Asia team.
The team is based in Dubai and handles offshore Indian clients.
They report to Armit Singh, head of wealth management, global south Asia.
Sanctum Wealth Management
The Indian firm has hired Yogesh Sodhani as market head for its southern region, based in Bengaluru.
In this role, Sodhani will report to Sanctum Wealth chief executive Shiv Gupta.
Sodhani has held leadership positions in at Axis Bank, Morgan Stanley, and HDFC Bank.
He was previously head of the advisory business in the south for Edelweiss Private Wealth Management.
Estera
The global provider of trust services has appointed Damian Resnik as client and operations director in its Bermuda office.
In this role, Resnik will serve as a director for a portfolio of clients and assume responsibility for the management of service delivery, operational activities and organisational strategies.
He has over 30 years’ experience in international and financial services in Bermuda.
Brown Shipley
The UK wealth planner has appointed David Scammell as fixed income and macro strategist and Amish Patel as senior equity analyst.
Both will join Brown Shipley’s investment office, headed by Toby Vaughan, chief investment officer.
Scammell has had roles with the Bank of England, Central Bank of Finland and the Bank for International Settlements; as well as senior positions at the United Bank of Kuwait, Schroders and Santander Asset Management.
Patel has 10 years’ experience and has spent time at Janus Henderson Global, Quilter Cheviot and Talisman Global.
Also, Brown Shipley has named Robert Farnworth as client director in the court of protection and personal injury specialist team.
Farnworth will be based in the Manchester office and will report to Richard McGregor, national head of court of protection and personal injury.
He has spent time at Tilney, Towry and Frenkel Topping, where he was a financial planner and relationship manager at all three firms.
