PEOPLE MOVES: Sesame Bankhall, Amundi, Deutsche Bank WM

C-suite hire at financial advice group, while French asset manager bolsters Luxembourg operation

Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG)

The financial advice group has hired Michele Golunska as chief executive.

Golunska has over 20 years’ experience in financial services in a range of senior roles.

She joins from Aviva UK, where she is currently operations director of workplace savings and retirement.

In her role as chief executive, Golunska will also become a member of the SBG board.

SBG does not currently have a chief executive, so this will be a new role within the group structure.

Some of John Cowan’s responsibilities as executive chairman will now be passed to Golunksa, and Cowan will become chairman.

Golunska will report to Cowan.

Amundi

The French asset manager has appointed Jeanne Duvoux as chief executive of its Luxembourg operation.

She joins Amundi from Société Générale in Luxembourg, where she was head of the private banking business unit.

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management

Siok Kuan Tham has joined the bank as head of wealth discretionary for emerging markets.

Based in Singapore, she takes over from Tuan Huynh, who was appointed Deutsche Bank’s chief investment officer of Europe, several months ago.

Previously, she was head of fixed income at Deutsche Bank’s asset management business, DWS, in Singapore.

Life Healthcare Group

The South African-based firm has announced Shrey Viranna will step down as chief executive and as a board member with immediate effect.

Viranna is “emigrating to Australia for personal and family reasons”, the firm said in a statement.

Pieter van der Westhuizen will serve as acting group chief executive, while retaining his position as chief financial officer.

Perspective Financial Group

The UK financial planning and wealth management group has named Jeff Scott as its chairman.

Scott was most recently chief executive of Santander Asset Management from 2008 to 2017.

As well as chairing Perspective, Scott will continue with his current role as non-executive chairman of Natwest Trustee Depositary Services.

VitalityInvest

Mark Baldwin has been named as investment distribution director.

He will lead the investment specialist team and the wealth business consultant team and is responsible for strengthening Vitality’s distribution network across the intermediary market.

Baldwin joins VitalityInvest from MetLife, where he was a member of its UK executive team.

IQ-EQ

The private wealth service provider has appointed John Legrand as managing director of UK and Ireland.

Prior to joining IQ-EQ, Legrand was managing director for Asia Pacific at Blackrock’s alternative investment software provider, eFront.

HSBC

The bank has named Pete Turner as country head of retail banking and wealth management in Guernsey.

He will oversee the bank’s branch network and lead its retail, premier, wealth and mortgages services.

Turner most recently a senior manager of people’s experience for the bank’s UK mortgage and wealth business.

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)

Dan Atkinson has been named chairman of the CISI paraplanner interest group.

He is head of technical at EQ Investors and has been a CISI interest group member for four years.

Atkinson takes over the role of from Farida Hassanali.
