Schroders

Schroders head of UK wealth Doug Abbott is set to exit the firm after 15 years.

Having originally joined the firm as a graduate trainee, he was named head of UK wealth in September 2023 following Gillian Hepburn’s appointment as commercial director of Schroders’ subsidiary Benchmark.

Abbott’s responsibilities will be taken up by Schroders UK head James Rainbow in the interim.

St. James’s Place

The wealth manager has appointed Corinne Lord as senior investment specialist in its newly-created CIO office.

Lord joins SJP from Cazenove Capital, where she was an investment product executive. Prior to this she worked at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) and Amundi Asset Management.

Lord will be working with CIO Justin Onuekwusi, who moved over from LGIM to take up the role last October.

The latest hire follows several other senior appointments, including Joe Wiggins as director of investment research and Hetal Mehta as head of economic research.

Newton Investment Management

The firm has named Tjeerd Voskamp as global head of distribution.

He joins after three years at J O Hambro Capital Management, where he was head of distribution for the UK, Europe and Asia.

In the newly-created role, Voskamp will be responsible for the firm’s distribution strategies, and will work closely with parent company BNY Mellon.

The move reunites Voskamp with Newton CEO Euan Munro, who he worked under at Aviva Investors.
