PEOPLE MOVES: Rothschild, Moore Stephens, Fidelity Int’l

A BlackRock alum has joined Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management as global head of business development. Accountancy network Moore Stephens has launched a US tax offering in London and appointed a triple qualified tax specialist to head it up. Fidelity International has lost a 13-year veteran.

Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management

The family-run investment house has named Gad Amar as global head of business development at Edmond de Rothschild AM. Based in Paris, Amar will report to Vincent Taupin, global chief executive asset management and chairman of the board at Edmond de Rothschild (France).

Amar was previously head of client distribution for France, Belgium and Luxembourg at BlackRock and will actively contribute to the firm’s strategic development in Europe. This appointment represents a major step forward in the asset manager’s efforts to extend its presence among institutional investors, distribution partners and IFAs.

Moore Stephens

Linus Östberg, previously at Deloitte in Los Angeles, has been recruited by Moore Stephens to head up a new US tax offering in London. Östberg is a triple-qualified US, UK and Swedish tax specialist, who has experience advising multinationals on tax strategy for their worldwide expatriate workforces, as well as advising high net-worth individuals on complex US tax planning.

Prior to his seven years at Deloitte, Östberg worked at RSM Tenon in London, advising non-domiciled individuals on complex personal tax affairs. He joined on 8 November, ahead of the busy US tax filing season.

Fidelity International

John Ford, global chief investment officer – fixed income, multi-asset & real estate has taken a career break after 13 years with Fidelity International and left the business, a spokesperson confirmed to International Adviser.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Ford had only been in the role since 2016, having previously been chief investment officer – Asia Pacific. He joined Fidelity International in Tokyo in 2005 from Schroders, where he was based in Hong Kong and head of distribution, Asia Pacific excluding Japan.

AJ Bell

AJ Bell has further strengthened its investment team with the appointment of Simon Molica as fund manager with immediate effect. He joins the investment team responsible for developing and managing AJ Bell’s investment solutions.

Molica was previously a portfolio manager at Morningstar where he was responsible for managing a variety of investment solutions.

NWH Global

Private client wealth manager Charlotte Denton has been appointed global chief executive of trust and corporate services provider NHW Global, formerly Newhaven.

Denton has led the Guernsey office since January 2017 and has overseen the rebranding of the business. She will now assume responsibility for the global operation. A chartered accountant, Denton started her financial services career more than 20 years ago at Rothschild and Barings.

Owl Private Office

Owl Private Office, the overarching advisory consultancy, serving very wealthy families and endowments, has announced that Annamaria Koerling has joined the Owl partnership.

Koerling, who previously headed the wealth management business of C. Hoare & Co and oversaw its sale to Cazenove, now becomes a partner together with founders, Adam Wethered, William Drake and Andrew Wimble.
