Rathbones
Chief executive Paul Stockton will retire in September after leading the firm since 2019, with Capstone president Jonathan Sorrell set to take his place.
Stockton has been at the firm since 2008 when he first joined as group finance director, before becoming managing director of Rathbone’s asset management branch in 2018.
In his six years as chief executive, Stockton led the firm’s merger with Investec Wealth and Investment in 2023, increasing their combined funds under management to £100bn.
Invesco
The firm has appointed Georgina Taylor as its UK head of client investment solutions in an ongoing drive to “simplify its global structure”.
Taylor has spent almost 12 years at the firm overseeing its multi-asset funds. She co-manages 12 of the portfolios herself, including Invesco’s £563.5m Managed Growth and £164.5m Managed Income funds.
Taylor also manages its Summit Growth and Summit Responsible fund ranges, which contain assets under management of £351.9m
Fidelity International
The asset manager has announced Steve Ellis is to leave the firm after 13 years to take a career break.
Ellis was most latterly global CIO for fixed income, a role he took on 2018, and the group said its fixed income AUM grew from $74bn to $95bn during his tenure.
Fidelity will announce a further update in due course on his replacement.
Sparrows Capital
The company has hired Paul Fox and Michelle Liseli as business development managers.
Fox has joined the company from Scottish Widows, where he was holistic business development manager. He has over 18 years’ experience in the financial services sector and previously worked for Canada Life and Paymentshield.
His focus at Sparrows Capital will be to develop adviser relationships and deliver its capped fee Sparrows SCore MPS.
Liseli joins from Puma Investments, where she was responsible for driving growth within its VCTs, EIS, AIM-listed, and unquoted BR-qualifying investments offering. She will also focus on financial advice firms.
Towers Watson
The firm has appointed Jon Pliner as its new chief investment officer as Craig Baker moves to become chief investment strategist of its investments business.
Baker will now take a “more external, market facing” role managing the firm’s strategic relationships and developing investment opportunities after 10 years as its global CIO.
He will continue to lead the £4.8bn Alliance Witan trust, which became a FTSE 100 company last year after the merger between the Alliance and Witan investment trusts.
