Wealth firm names MD of financial planning, as global advice group hires managing partner

Quilter Financial Planning

Stephen Fryett has become managing director at Quilter’s financial planning arm.

He will succeed Gemma Harle, who decided to pursue opportunities outside the business.

Fryett was a founder of Intrinsic, a predecessor of Quilter Financial Planning, between 2005 and 2019 when he took on the role of managing director of one of Quilter’s appointed representative firms, Lifetime Connect.

Skybound Wealth Management

The financial advice firm hired Edmund Teasdale as managing partner, according to his Linkedin profile.

He joins from AHR Group, where he worked as a financial planner and private wealth adviser for more than three years.

DWS

The asset management group has made some changes to its c-suite.

Karen Kuder will become chief administrative officer, while Angela Maragkopoulou will take on the role of chief operating officer.

They will succeed Mark Cullen, who will step down from DWS’ executive board at the end of the year.

Kuder joins from Deutsche Bank where she served as chief counsel since May 2022, while Maragkopoulou was most recently chief information officer and senior vice president for B2B and data analytics at Deutsche Telekom.

Franklin Templeton

The asset management firm has hired Yu Qing as head of China, a newly created role.

She joins from Nomura, where she served as chair of the board at Nomura Orient International Securities and as managing director at Nomura Securities in China. She will lead the asset manager’s onshore business from the mainland.

Singlife with Aviva

The company born out of the merger between Aviva Singapore and Singlife has expanded the management team of its investment platform, Navigator Investment Services.

Wei Lin Chin joins as head of strategy and business management from DBS, where she served as executive director of group strategy and planning.

Farooq Lone becomes head of product and business development. He was previously at DBS as well where he worked as digital product and business head for Indonesia.

Connectus Wealth Advisers

The global subsidiary of US-headquartered Focus Financial has named Molly Bennard as chief executive.

She spent the last seven years at Focus, where she was most recently managing director and co-head of the firm’s northeast US M&A team.

Smart

The global savings and investment tech platform provider has recruited Anish Rav as director of retirement, a newly created role.

He was previously at Capita Pensions Solutions where he was director of pensions policy.

Falco Group

David Sterland has joined the investment group as executive director.

He spent the last six years at Santander as head of wealth strategy and international.

Nuveen

The investment manager has hired Kelly hagg as senior managing director and head of responsible investing strategy and solutions.

He joins from Janus Henderson, where he served as global head of product strategy and ESG for distribution.

LGT Wealth Management

The wealth manager has made some changes to its board of directors.

Princess Adelheid Coudenhove-Kalergi of Liechtenstein and Susan Ward joined the governing board as non-executive directors.

Princess Coudenhove-Kalergi is honorary counsel of the principality of Liechtenstein and was most recently Middle Eastern and frontier market economist at Credit Suisse.

Ward brings over 30 years of experience in financial services, over 20 of which she spent at JP Morgan, where she specialised in structuring and executing capital risk solutions.
