PEOPLE MOVES: Quilter, Pictet WM, Curtis Banks

Financial services giant bolsters UK platform business, while wealth manager names head of Italy

Quilter

Karen Blatchford has been named as the successor to Scott Goodsir as distribution director of the firm’s UK platform business Old Mutual Wealth.

She will move to the role from 1 January 2021 and was previously head of product and marketing for Quilter International.

Blatchford takes over from Scott Goodsir, who is leaving Old Mutual Wealth in February 2021 to take some time out of the industry before looking for his next challenge.

Pictet Wealth Management

The Swiss-headquartered firm has appointed Alessandra Losito as head of wealth management Italy with effect from 1 January 2021.

She succeeds Luca Toniutti who is moving into a new role, as chairman of Pictet Wealth Management Italy.

Losito has over 20 years’ experience in the banking industry and joined Pictet Wealth Management in 2005, and went on to become head of the Rome office in 2017 and Head of Milan in 2019.

In addition to Losito, Paolo Ramondetti has been appointed deputy head of Pictet Wealth Management Italy.

Ramondetti joined Pictet 20 years ago.

Curtis Banks

The independent Sipp operator has named Barry Foster as technical sales manager, a newly created role.

Foster joins from BMO Global Asset Management, where he held roles in the firm’s strategic and technical sales team.

Prior to BMO, he held similar roles at Utmost Wealth Solutions and Axa Wealth.

Capital Asset Management

The independent financial planning firm has appointed Nick Heath as business development director.

Heath joins from Seven Investment Management (7IM), where he was head of business development of its private client team.

A&J Wealth Management

The UK firm has named Andy Harris as an investment director.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he spent nearly four years at Kingswood and has also previously worked at Duncan Lawrie Private Bank and Butterfield Private Bank.

Mattioli Woods

The UK wealth manager has strengthened its asset management division with the appointment of Chris White as investment director.

He joins the firm from previous roles with Threadneedle and Premier.

Brown Shipley

The Quintet Private Bank subsidiary has appointed Martin Cuthbert as head of the Manchester office.

He joins from Julius Baer, where he was head of relationship management, with overall management responsibility for growing the regional businesses in Yorkshire and the north east.

LexField

The Luxembourg law firm has added Pierre-Siffrein Guillet to its private wealth practice.

Guillet advises family offices, high net-worth individuals and families on their private wealth management.

He also provides tax and legal advice to private clients on their investment, with a focus on the French, Swiss and Luxembourg markets.

Prior to joining LexField, Guillet founded his own consulting firm in 2016 and before that, developed and managed the family office services at IQEQ (Luxembourg) S.A.

Tilney

The wealth management firm has hired Keith Burdon as head of charities for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

He joins Tilney from Martin Currie, where he held a number of roles over 13 years. Most recently he was head of investment trusts and charities.
