Quilter Cheviot

The wealth manager has appointed Tim Armitage into the newly created role of investment strategist.

As part of the role, Armitage will propose tactical asset allocation trades across asset classes to enhance client investment performance. He will also develop and maintain forecasting scorecards and models, and provide commentary on financial markets to clients, advisers and Quilter Cheviot’s investment managers.

Reporting into chief investment officer Caroline Simmons, Armitage will provide support to her with the overall investment process.

Armitage joins Quilter Cheviot from Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), where he was a multi-asset strategist and fund manager.

At LGIM, he was responsible for both strategic and tactical asset allocation across a wide range of long-only and target return funds. Prior to that, he was at BlackRock for a number of years within multi-asset investment risk.

Troy Asset Management

The firm has promoted portfolio managers Charlotte Yonge and Tomasz Boniek to co-managers on a range of the firm’s mandates.

The move will see Yonge promoted to co-manager of the firm’s multi-asset mandates, which include the Trojan Fund and Personal Assets Trust, alongside founder and CIO Sebastian Lyon.

Yonge joined Troy over 12 years ago and has been assistant fund manager on the Trojan Fund and Personal Assets Trust since 2018, while she has managed the Trojan Ethical fund since launch in 2019.

Fidelity International

Portfolio manager Nick Price is set to retire at the end of the year after a 30 year career with the firm.

He currently manages the £195m Fidelity Japan Trust and the Fidelity Japan Growth fund.

Price joined Fidelity’s Tokyo office in 1993 as a research analyst, before being appointed as a portfolio manager in 1999.
