Ardan International

He will be responsible for the firm’s Channel Islands, trust company and European IFA business.

Ison was previously a regional sales manager at RL360, which is also part of IFG.

Artemis

The investment management firm has hired Greg Jones as head of distribution, effective from 1 September.

He replaces Jasper Berens who left the business.

Jones was previously head of distribution for Emea, Apac and Latin America at Janus Henderson.

Raffles Family Office

Edward Sit has been named executive director and head of greater China corporate development at the Asian family office.

He will be responsible for establishing business partnerships and client development, and will be based in both China and Hong Kong.

Sit was previously at the Hong Kong Exchange & Clearing, where he served as vice president focusing on the bourse’s global client development.

Carrick Wealth

South African wealth firm Carrick Wealth has named Scott Bell as regional manager, based in Gauteng.

He joins from Alexander Forbes, where he worked for 11 years, and was most recently senior manager, multi-tied sales: Gauteng North, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

House of Lords

Two UK financial services heavy weights are to join the House of Lords.

Helena Morrisey, independent non-executive director at St James’s Place and founder of gender diversity group 30% Club, together with Frank Fields, former chair of the work and pensions select committee, will sit in parliament’s upper house.

River and Mercantile

UK asset management firm River and Mercantile has expanded its wholesale distribution team with the hire of Martin Canavan as sales director for the north of England, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

He joins from Merian Global Investors where he worked as a sales and relationship manager for IFAs and DFMs across similar territories.

Premier Miton

Rob James has started working at Premier Miton Investors as a fund manager within the fixed income team.

He was previously at Merian Global Investors as well, where he co-managed the Merian Financial Contingent Capital Fund and worked as an analyst.

His hire stems from the fact that Premier Miton intends to roll out a fund similar to the one he co-managed at Merian.
