PwC
PwC has announced a significant leadership change in the Channel Islands.
The company has appointed Simon Perry as its new senior partner, with effect from 1 January 2018.
Perry succeeds Brendan McMahon who is leaving the company in Spring 2018 after serving five years as senior partner with a career spanning 31 years with the PwC network.
Perry has been partner with PwC since 2005, he has held a wide variety of roles within the firm so far, accumulating wide-ranging experience working in asset and wealth management practices at PwC in Sydney, London and in the Channel Islands.
His most recent role was as a partner on secondment to PwC’s London office since 2013, leading the UK asset and wealth management advisory business.
Generali
The board of directors of Assicurazioni Generali has created the new position of group chief operations and insurance officer.
The new role focuses combines the activities of the company’s “operations” area with those of the “Insurance Officer” and will report directly to the Group CEO.
Jaime Anchustegui Melgarejo, currently head of the EMEA area, has been appointed in this new position from 1 January 2018.
Anchustegui is a graduate of Madrid’s Universidad Politécnica and has been chief executive of Generali Spain. He has also held important positions in Peru, Mexico and other Latin American countries.
Old Mutual Wealth
Jeremy Mugridge has been appointed head of proposition marketing for Old Mutual Wealth’s UK Platform, reporting to Michelle Andrews, marketing director at Old Mutual Wealth.
He will be responsible for promoting the Old Mutual Wealth platform customer and adviser propositions in the UK, including pensions, investments and protection.
Mugridge joins Old Mutual Wealth from Aegon where he was responsible for a number of digital and investment consultancy projects.
Prior to that Jeremy was marketing director at fintech company, Instinct Studios, having previously held a variety of marketing roles at Old Mutual Wealth until 2012.
He replaces Tom Hawkins who has worked at Old Mutual Wealth for 17 years and is now moving to become head of Old Mutual Wealth’s team of office -based consultants. Hawkins will report to Tony Harris, head of platform distribution.
PraxisIFM
Independent financial services company PraxisIFM has created two new group and two new director positions in the Channel Islands.
In Jersey, Siobhan McGrath and Dan Toft have been promoted to directors at PraxisIFM Trust Jersey, where they have joined the board.
Sharon Coburn has been promoted to group head of human resources, based in Guernsey, and Richard Morris, based in Jersey, has been promoted to group financial reporting manager.
Aztec Group
Aztec Group, an independent fund and corporate services provider, has appointed private equity expert Gavin Hayman as a director in their Guernsey office.
Hayman will form part of the team responsible for developing and leading the delivery of the Aztec Group’s private equity fund services’ client proposition in Guernsey.
He joined the firm from Ipes where he held the position of chief financial officer for the past eight years.
A member of the Ipes board, Hayman previously played an active role in developing the company’s finance strategy as well as leading the financial modelling for all their regulatory Group applications, product launches and budgets.
