Vanguard fills its newly created head of Italy position, Martin Currie sets out its succession plan involving a Blackrock alum and PSG Wealth grows its Johannesburg office.

PSG Wealth

PSG Wealth Johannesburg office has hired wealth manager Andrew Kurten, who brings with him 15 years’ experience in the banking industry with experience in portfolio management, financial planning, and retirement strategies.

The PSG Wealth Johannesburg office specialises in investments, which includes local and offshore share portfolios, fund management, and retirement planning.

It deals mostly with high net worth individuals and wealthy families.

Vanguard

Vanguard has appointed Simone Rosti as head of Italy.

In this newly created position, Rosti will be based at Vanguard’s European headquarters in London where he will lead the firm’s efforts to develop it’s offering for the Italian market.

Rosti joins from UBS Asset Management where he was head of passive and ETF sales for Europe. He joined UBS in 2012 as head of ETFs Italy.

Previously, Rosti worked for iShares/Blackrock as a senior sales representative for the Italian market, and as head of marketing from 2007-2010. He began his career in the financial industry in 2002.

Martin Currie

Active equity specialists Martin Currie has appointed Zehrid Osmani as joint portfolio manager on its Global Portfolio trust alongside Tom Walker, as part of a considered succession plan.

Osmani joined Martin Currie last month to lead its global long-term unconstrained (GLTU) team, which will complement his additional role as joint portfolio manager.

His co-management responsibilities take effect on 30 June 2018.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Osmani joins from BlackRock where, during his 10 years, he played a key part in building its European equity franchise.

He held a number of senior roles at the company, including head of European research, with responsibility for a 23-strong team of analysts.

Intertrust

Shervin Binesh has joined Intertrust in Jersey as client director in its Performance & Reward Management (PRM) team.

Binesh will lead the strategy to evolve the team’s provision of high quality trustee and administration services for share plans, deferred compensation plans and pensions and savings plans to large corporates.

With more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Binesh most recently worked at Link Asset Services as an account director with senior oversight for some of their largest clients and was a member of the senior management team in London.

Farringdon Asset Management

As part of the continued growth of the Kuala Lumpur based firm, Farringdon Group has launched a business consultancy arm that aims to provide small and medium sized entities with access to business transformation and strategic planning advice.

The initiative will be headed by Mark Greenwood who returns to Malaysia following two years in Hong Kong as international director for the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), a London based global professional body for the insurance and financial services sectors.

Previously, he has worked across Asia, Africa and the Middle East in senior executive roles across a number of sectors.

CISI

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has appointed Susan Clements as its global director of Learning.

Prior to joining the CISI, Clements was head of qualifications at the Institution of Civil Engineers, having previously been membership development officer.

Mid-way through her career, Clements took some time out to bring up her family, during which she undertook extensive voluntary work in the education sector.
